The Oro-Medonte 77’s management are pleased to announce the hiring of Patrick Geary as the team’s head coach for the 2010-2011 season. Coach Geary brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the 77’s. We expect that coach Geary will implement his own styles to the team immediately. Expect the 77’s to be a highly disciplined and yet very physical hockey club next year. Geary has spent the past two years as an assistant coach with both the Nipissing Alouettes and Oro-Medonte77’s. Spending the last two years under the tutelage of now head coach of the Powassan Dragons Lui Ricci and current General Manager of the 77’s Jeff Stack has helped Geary identify the type of Coach he will become. The 77’s Management felt the time was right for Geary to make the jump and lead the 77’s as the teams new bench boss.
The Oro-Medonte 77’s management are also happy to report that Assistant Coach Dave Gillespie has agreed to return to the club as an Assistant Coach. Both Gillespie and Geary worked very well together last season and are excited to be working together again this year.
Coach Geary and Gillespie will be looking to complete the full complement of the 77’s coaching staff within the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more announcements.
We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.
