The Oro-Medonte 77's spent this past weekend in St Louis at the Monster Showcase tournament. The 77's were able to speak with a few very talented young men that we hope to lean on in the coming season. 77's forward, and last year’s rookie of the year, Nick D'Avolio, was also at the showcase. Nick raised the eyebrows of many USHL and College scouts. Most were impressed by the level of development that Nick had shown from last year’s event. Congratulation Nick! We are all very proud of you! Keep working hard this summer, and we will see you next season.
Up next for the 77's, is the 2010 GMHL Draft. The 77's made a number of moves last year to add draft picks for this upcoming season's draft, so expect the us to be active on the draft floor in May.
Still to be confirmed is the 77's Main Camp. It looks like it will take place towards the end of June at the Innisfil Recreation Complex.
In addition, the 77's welcome two newcomers to the organization. Jon Auger and Gary Young, both of Oro-Medonte, have bought out Mark Cardiff's share of ownership. Jon and Gary have some exciting ideas for both the organization and the community. Stay tuned, as some of these exciting changes and initiatives will be released to the pubic soon
