The young 77’s took 3 of a possible 4 points the past weekend. The 77’s picked up a single point on Saturday night. After leading the defending Russell Cup Champions through the majority of the game, the 77’s lost a heartbreaker in the shoot out. 77’s goaltender Marco Repitsch was a stand out between the pipes stopping 62 of 66 shots. This game was the best team effort that the 77’s have had as a team this season.
Sunday afternoon the 77’s travelled to Minden to face the Riverkings for the 4th time this year. Despite a lack lustier performance by the squad, the 77’s came out victorious with a 6-3 win.
The 3 points moved the 77’s in to 5th place in the GMHL. However the team will have its hardest task this week as they face the 2nd place Bradford Rattlers on Wednesday night and the 1st place Elliot Lake Bobcats on Saturday night at the Oro community centre.
